Through making several strategic changes, we have been involved in unlocking the potential in this iconic 1970’s office building. Situated in a prominent position in the town centre, with an ‘umbilical cord’ link bridge to the station, The Apex needed a refresh to keep up with the ever expanding and vibrant Reading office market. Let to a number of high-profile tenants on long-term leases, our interventions were to not adversely affect current occupiers.
The design solution redefines the orientation and circulation of the building by moving the main entrance, so it addresses the adjacent Reading station. A new reception and meeting area welcomes visitors into the building. The building’s street presence has also been improved by the introduction of ground floor retail units along Forbury Road, the main access into central Reading.
