With the existing building beyond it’s economic life, the aspiration is to deliver a new Grade A and sustainable office building which connects with it’s local context and sets a benchmark for future commercial office properties within Reigate.
With a focus on re-use and re purposing, every option was explored to retain the existing building components, however due to the design and nature of the existing 1980s building, the scope of retention was limited to substructure elements only.
The proposals have been developed with sustainability and post-Covid targets at the forefront of the design. LETI and PassivHaus principles have driven the structure and facade, while the building services offer multiple ‘fresh air’ ventilation options for occupiers and with additional amenity spaces – all seek to satisfy the evolving flexible workplace.
