Lifelong Learning, Why Dn-A Is Investing

The ‘ongoing, voluntary, and self-motivated’[1]  pursuit of knowledge is admirable in any case.

For dn-a, it goes deeper. We want to challenge the very fabric of how we think, so we can continue to innovate, collaborate and critically analyse how we design, for the betterment of the planet and each other.

“Lifelong learning is about ensuring that we, as a company, do not standstill; we must metamorphose continuously to keep our fingers on the pulse of work-life balance and socio-economic changes.”

As Jai Sanghera, Chairman & Co-Founder of dn-a, states, “it’s the opportunity to encourage the individual in their development, whilst deepening dn-a’s commitment to them and vice versa, akin to a complex organism that works symbiotically. Their knowledge and energy stimulates the company’s ability to transform and evolve; so investing in learning is a natural default, it’s paramount to the survival and success of any company.

“Lifelong learning is about ensuring that we, as a company, do not standstill; we must metamorphose continuously to keep our fingers on the pulse of work-life balance and socio-economic changes. In a constantly evolving world, we welcome staff who have the ability to bring something different, something dynamic to the table.”

Meet the dn-a team going above and beyond

In light of Jai’s recent article in the Architects’ Journal on architectural education at The University of Bath and nationally, we’ve been reflecting on the importance of lifelong learning and the impact this has on dn-a. Education is paramount; which is why we’re investing in lifelong learning for dn-a staff.

We are pleased to announce our very own Deren will be the first dn-a member to take the apprenticeship route to complete her Level 7 Architectural Apprentice Part II master’s at London South Bank University.

Deren is one of four others in the practice continuing with their architectural studies. Michael Caffrey, Eleanore Cole and Lisa Seymour have enrolled to complete their Part III this year.

Supporting our staff to reach their full potential, by providing in-practice learning and assistance for academic training, we’re excited for the future of the dn-a team and what this means for dn-a.

Lisa Seymour

“I am greedy for knowledge, enthusiasm and innovation.”

Lisa Seymour – Advanced Diploma in Professional Practice in Architecture Part III, University of Chester.

Eleanore

“Embarking on this final step towards becoming an Architect is an exciting prospect. Although I’m continually learning and developing within the work place, I look forward to the challenge of combining my last eight years of study and work, to achieve this final qualification.”

Eleanore Cole – Professional Practice Postgraduate Certificate Part III, University of Bath.

Architectural Designer

“Architecture has that brilliant balance of control, by imposing logic and technical understanding, while embracing and stimulating one’s creative license. I believe the apprenticeship scheme is the ideal path due to its balance. It is the ideal combination required in order to achieve and learn at a much higher level. I believe it will allow me to progress and reach my full potential and prepare me to accomplish my aspiration of becoming a qualified Architect.”

Deren Mustafa – Level 7 Architectural Apprentice Part II, London South Bank University.

Architectural Designer Part Three

“I am looking forward to progressing through the next stage of architectural education to gain a new and more informed perspective towards professional practice”

Michael Caffrey – Professional Practice Postgraduate Certificate Part III, London South Bank University.

“Supporting our staff to reach their full potential, we’re excited for the future of the dn-a team.”

dn-a is leading the way in supporting talented architectural designers to reach their full potential. We wish all those who are embarking on this journey of completing their studies to become fully qualified Architects the best of luck and support.
